MMSM presents Bag up Manitoba – Plastic Bag Roundup Challenge!

In partnership with Take Pride Winnipeg, MMSM is challenging students to collect as many plastic shopping bags as possible and bring them to school for recycling. Starting September 24 and running to October 26, students and teachers are encouraged to collect as many plastic shopping bags as they can.

Each school that participates will receive two birdhouses made from recycled plastic. The top 14 schools that have collected the most plastic bags will also receive a park bench made from recycled plastic bags.

Bag up Manitoba was a record success in 2011. Over a half million bags were collected from Manitoba schools and diverted from landfills. Let’s keep up the great work and recycle even more this year!
