Happy National Thrift Shop Day! Thrift stores are a great way to give life to your old clothes and find something new. Clothing and textiles aren’t accepted in your blue bin, but they are recyclable in other places.

Here are some ways you can recycle your old clothes:

  • Donate them to your local shelter or thrift shop, such as Goodwill or The Salvation Army
  • Resell them to a consignment store
  • Give them away to family and friends
  • Host a clothing swap
  • Donate them to Diabetes Canada
    • They have various drop boxes located throughout Manitoba. Find the closest drop box to you here
  • Drop them off at the Salvation Army Distribution and Recycling Centre, located at 25 Furniture Park Road

By donating your textiles and clothes, you’re doing your part to reduce the amount of textiles going to the landfill. Happy thrifting!
