On Saturday, January 23 at St. Vital Centre, Take Pride Winnipeg! and Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba are hosting a Manitoba Eco Awareness Day and Recycled Material Fashion Fest. Booths will be set up throughout the mall for people to learn about the environment and sustainability issues. A special fashion show will also take place in the afternoon, highlighting recycled outfits.
Students are being asked to create outfits from recycled materials for the Fashion Fest part of the day. Top entrants will get to showcase their hard work in the fashion show. There will be separate categories based on grade levels. Prizes will be gift certificates from various stores and restaurants around St. Vital Centre and tickets to sporting events.
