To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we ask that medical items such as gloves, masks, sanitizing wipes and facial tissues not be put in your recycling bins. These items are considered contamination and when they end up in the blue bin, sorting staff have to manually remove them off the line. For the health and safety of the collection and sorting staff, please only include accepted items in your recycling.

During these uncertain times, it’s more important than ever to follow the guidelines from our government and trusted health professionals. Practice social distancing by standing a minimum of two meters away from collection staff. Wait until your blue bin has been picked up from the curb before returning it to your residence.

If you have any questions about your collection, MMSM staff are happy to assist you remotely via phone or email. You can also visit our Recyclepedia to learn more about what is accepted in your blue bin.
