June 2018

Canada Day is coming up soon, and we want to remind all Manitobans to recycle over the long weekend. Whether you’re entertaining guests at a barbeque, taking your family to the park, or going to the cottage, make sure to put your garbage and recycling into the right bins.

Here’s a list of which items go in the blue bin, and which ones stay out.

RECYCLABLE Materials

  • Cardboard boxes
  • Ice cream pails
  • Pop bottles
  • Pizza boxes
  • Condiment bottles (i.e. Ketchup bottles)
  • Glass containers (i.e. Jars, bottles) but be sure to give them a quick rinse and remove the label!
  • Water bottles

UNACCEPTED Materials – please don’t put these items in your blue bins

  • Cling wrap
  • Tinfoil
  • Aluminum foil tray and plates
  • Styrofoam (i.e. Plates, cups)
  • Napkins
  • Plastic utensils
  • Soiled paper plates

From all of us at MMSM, we want to wish you and your family a safe and relaxing Canada Day!
