Students from across Manitoba were invited to participate in the third annual MMSM Eco Fashion Fest which encouraged them to create striking works of wearable art from everyday materials that would normally be found in the blue bin. The Fashion Fest aimed to inspire and ignite passion in students while educating them about the importance of recycling and reusing waste.
The challenge was to rework recyclable items and other previously enjoyed materials and craft them into one-of-a-kind fashion designs. Over 30 finalists were selected and invited to wear their designs at Take Pride Winnipeg’s Team Up to Clean Up event on April 4. The event was hosted at Bell MTS Place and hosted by Ace Burpee from Virgin Radio.
