Our exciting new school contest starts today!

What is Recyclepedia’s Remarkable Recycler?

The Recyclepedia’s Remarkable Recycler is a new program we’re launching in partnership with Bell Media. We’re looking for students to show us how they creatively reduce, reuse, and recycle at school or at home. We want to know how kids are taking steps to lessen their impact on the environment, whether that’s being a part of a green team, or composting at home in the backyard – the possibilities are endless!

Three winners will be chosen as the Recyclepedia’s Remarkable Recycler each week! The winners each win a cash prize and have the opportunity to be featured in a video segment on CTV Morning Live showing how they reduce, reuse, and recycle in their everyday lives. The contest runs from March 20 – May 14, 2023.

Enter to be one of Recyclepedia’s Remarkable Recyclers!

There are lots of ways students can show us that they’re a Remarkable Recycler. They can commit to bringing a litterless lunch to school for a week, teaching kids in younger grades what’s accepted for recycling, or helping a neighbour wheel out their bin to the curb on collection day.

Students and teachers can get started by familiarizing themselves with our best practices and tips page on how to run a school recycling program. We also encourage you to check out our lesson plans, and other school programs we’re a part of.

The contest is open to all Manitoba students ages 6 and up, from kindergarten to Grade 12. Students, parents, and teachers can enter as individuals, or as part of a group. You can enter easily online through one of our partners’ websites:

  1. CTV Morning Live
  2. 103.1 Virgin Radio Winnipeg
  3. Bounce 96.1 & Pure Country 101.1 Brandon

Share this contest with anyone who you think is making a difference. We can’t wait for students to show us all the remarkable ways they reduce waste in their lives!
